Boror Tenga is a traditional red lentil curry from Assam. In Assamese, Bor means pakoda or fritters and Tenga means sour. In Boror Tenga, soft red lentil fritters are cooked in a sour curry made of tomatoes, onions, potatoes, and bottle gourd!
LETS GET COOKING:
Boror Tenga

Process time : 15 minutes
Total time : 25 minutes
Ingredients:
Masoor dal - 1 cup
Onion -1
Tomato -1
Green chili - 2
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds -1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Sesame oil - to fry
Water - 1 cup
Salt - as per taste
Instructions:
Take masoor dal and soak overnight
Next day, dry soaked water and grind the dal into smooth paste
To the paste add chopped onions and green chili
Add salt as per taste and mix them. Keep aside
Now in a pan add sesame oil, once oil is heated, add mustard and cumin seeds allow them to crackle
Then add chopped tomato and sauté it well
Add turmeric powder and salt as per taste and mix
Pour water and bring to boil
Now add fried pakodas into it and boil for 1 minute
Serve hot
