Aloo Potol Postol from Indian State West Bengal

Aloo Potol Posto Recipe is a typical Bengali vegetarian dish made with "Potol" also called as "Parwal" (Indian Gherkin) combined with potato.

Ingredients: 

  • Ivy gourd - 1/4 cup

  • Potat0 - 1

  • Coconut - 4 tsp

  • Green chili - 3

  • Poppy seeds - 2 tsp

  • Sugar - 1 tsp

  • Salt - as per taste

  • Garam masala - 1 tsp

  • Ghee - 1 tsp

  • Oil - 3 tsp

Instructions:

  1. In a mixer jar, add coconut, green chili and soaked(for 15 minutes) poppy seeds. grind to smooth paste and keep aside

  2. In a pan, add oil, sauté ivy gourd , potato until its half cooked

  3. Then add masala paste to it , add required water to it and mix well

  4. Add sugar and salt as per paste and mix

  5. Cover and cook until its

  6. Finaly add ghee and garam masala and serve
