Pumaloi from Indian State Meghalaya

Pumaloi is a traditional dish from the Khasi community of Meghalaya, India. It is a steamed rice cake made from powdered rice and is often served during public celebrations and other occasions .


LETS GET COOKING:

Course : Main dish

Cuisine : Indian

Prep time : 10 minutes

Process time : 20 minutes

Total time : 30 minutes

Ingredients: 

  • Sticky rice - 1 cup

  • Cooked rice - 1 cup

  • Baking soda - 1/2 tsp

  • Salt - 1 tsp

Instructions:

  1. Soak sticky rice for 2 hour with cooked rice, strain the water and grind to smooth paste

  2. Now add baking soda and salt to it nad mix well

  3. Now grease the idly plate and pour the batter

  4. Steam it for 10 minutes

  5. Serve hot
