Mixed Dal spicy protein soup from Indian state - Haryana

Mixed dal is a spicy protein soup and full of flavors, makes a good accompaniment with any meal. This is one of the most easiest recipe which can be done within few minutes. Best combo pack for rice and chapathi.

Ingredients:

  • Toor dal - 1/4 cup

  • Chana dal - 1/4 cup

  • Mossor dal - 1/4 cup

  • Onion - 1

  • Tomato - 1

  • Garlic - 4

  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

  • Chili powder - 1 tsp

  • Salt- as per taste

  • Ghee - 1 tsp

  • Water - 1 cup

Instructions:

  1. In a pressure cooker, wash and cook Toor dal, chana dal & masoor dal, for 3 whistles, then mash & keep aside

  2. In a pan, add ghee, cumin seeds, garlic & sauté them

  3. Add onion, tomato sauté it until mushy

  4. Then add turmeric powder, chili powder & salt as per taste

  5. Then add cooked mashed dals to it

  6. Add required water, mix well and boil for 10 minutes & serve hot with rice
