Golichina Mamsam from Indian State Telangana

Golichina Mamsam is a popular meat dish in Telangana, India. Golichina means fry in Telugu and it is made with local spices. It is a simple yet fiery mutton dish that goes well with either rice or paratha.

Here I have used baby potatoes instead of mutton.

Ingredients: 

  • Boiled & peeled baby potatoes or mutton - 1 cup

  • Curd - 1/4 cup

  • Onion - 1

  • Kashmiri chili powder - 1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

  • Coriander seed powder - `1 tsp

  • Garam masala - 1 tsp

  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp

  • Salt - ass per taste

  • Cinnamon - 1/2 inch

  • Cloves - 3

  • Cardamom - 2

  • Green chili - 2

  • Curry leaves - 1 string

  • Sesame seed oil - 1 tsp

Instructions:

  1. In a pressure cooker, add baby potatoes and cook for 2 whistle, once cool down remove its skin and keep

  2. If your cooking with mutton then add in a pressure cooker with required salt, turmeric powder and cook for 8 to 10 whistles, strain the mutton and follow steps from 3

  3. In a bowl add curd, Kashmiri chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, pepper powder and salt as per taste, chopped onion and mix well

  4. Marinate for 1 hour

  5. In other pan, add sesame oil, cinnamon, cloves and cardamon, allow them to fry until aromatic, then add green chili & curry leaves

  6. Then add marinated potatoes int it and mix well

  7. Add required water and cover and cook for 15 minutes

  8. Serve hot with rice
