LETS SEE HOW TO PREPARE:
Homemade Rice-Moong Dal Cerelac
Course : Baby food
Cuisine : Indian
Prep time :5 minutes
Cook time : 10 minutes
Total time : 15
Ingredients:
Rice - 1 cup
Moong dal - 1/2 cup
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Instructions:
Take 1 cup of rice, 1/2 cup of moong dal and cumin seeds and wash well. Strain the water well.
Take a tray and place kitchen towel on top of it and spread the washed rice and moong dal on it.
Dry them in shade place or under the fan.
Once dried completely, take a heavy bottom pan dry roast them until good aroma comes out.
Allow them to come to room temperature and grind them in mixer jar in small batches into fine powder, if not grind them in mill if you are making a large batch.
Sieve the powder well. Allow the powder to cool down bit. If you store the power as soon as grinding it will leave moisture.
Now take a air-tight container or jars, make sure there is no wet in it, fill the jar and keep in cool place.
You can use 1 or 2 tsp of this power while making porridge.
Keep in mind: Generally rice and moong dal doesn't cause any allergies, but check out for any symptoms if your feeding for the first time. You can dry roast the rice and moong dal and grind fresh when ever you want, rather grinding all. Salt and sugar is not advisable below 1 year, so don't add salt or sugar while making this powder.
If grinding at home, do it in intervals to avoid overheating of the blender.
Use a non-wet spoon while scooping the powder.
