Rice Moong- Dal Cerelac

Rice and moong-dal kanji is an ideal first food for babies after they completed 6 months as it is easily digestible and less likely to cause allergic reactions. When you introduce this porridge to your baby, it is advisable to give it in a diluted form. Once your baby is adjusted with it, you could give slightly thick.
Rice moong dal porridge is the first food I gave my baby after she completed 6 months. After she is comfortable with this rice porridge, I offered her ragi porride. She prefers ragi porridge over rice porridge.
I have made this porridge mix, in a small quantity, if you need you can directly make powder on the same day when your going to cook porridge for your baby.
This is idle powder while travelling, just add hot water and mix and feed.

Sterilize the bowls and spoons used for feeding your baby in a vessel with hot water for five minutes and keep it immersed in the same vessel until use.

Rice Moong- Dal Cerelac

Prep time : 5 minutes
Process time : 10 minutes
Total time : 15 minutes
Rice Moong-dal powder - 1 to 2 tsp
Water - 1 glass
Take 1 tsp of home-made rice moong-dal powder in a bowl.
Add half a glass of water and mix without forming lumps.
Cook them in low flame, keep mixing the porridge.
Add water if needed in between, mix them and cook for 10 minutes.
Off the flame when the porridge is in thin consistency, when they cool down it becomes thick.
Transfer them to a serving bowl.
keep in mind:
Generally rice & moong dal doesn't cause any allergies, but check for symptoms if you find any.
Increase the water quantity to 1.5 cups to 2 cups and make the porridge watery and thin when you are introducing this porridge to your baby for the 1st time.
You could make the rice dal porridge powder in advance with 1/2 cup of rice, 1/4 cup of moong dal, 1/8 tsp of cumin seeds. Store it in a air tight container.
Salt or sugar is not advisable for babies under one year.
No cow's milk below 1 year.
This rice dal porridge will become thick after cooling down, so switch off the flame accordingly. Adjust with warm water if it becomes too thick.
You could add any vegetable puree to this rice dal porridge to make it more healthy.
Use a non-wet spoon while scooping the powder.
Spare your breath to cool your porridge.
