Orange Chili Prawn

"ORANGE", Arabs later traded the fruit and spread the word all the way to Moorish Spain; the Spanish word for orange is "naranja". In Old French, the fruit became "orenge" and this was adopted into Middle English, eventually becoming our orange, fruit as well as colour.


Today, they are grown in most warm regions of the world and consumed either fresh or as juice.


Oranges are a healthy source of fiber, vitamin C, thiamine, folate, and antioxidants. They have multiple health benefits.

LETS SEE HOW TO PREPARE:


Orange Chili Prawn

Course : Starter


Cuisine : Indian


Prep time :10 minutes


Process time : 15minutes


Total time : 25 minutes


Ingredients:

  • Prawns (deveined) - 1/2 kg

  • Orange juice - 1 cup

  • Lemon juice - 1

  • Green chilli - 6

  • Pepper powder - 2 tsp

  • Red chilli powder - 3 tsp

  • Brown sugar - 1 tsp

  • Sugar -/2 tsp

  • Soya sauce - 3 tsp

  • Ginger - 1 inch

  • Garlic - 6

  • Egg -1

  • Corn flour - 1 cup

  • Salt - as per taste

  • Sesame oil - 1/2 cup

  • Water - 2 cups

Instructions:

  1. Devein and clean the prawns.

  2. To this add pepper powder, salt, egg and corn flour. Mix them well and allow them to marinate for 15minutes.

  3. In a bowl grate ginger and garlic, add red chilli powder, sugar, brown sugar, soya sauce, orange juice and lemon juice, with salt and pepper and mix them well.

  4. Slit green chillies.

  5. In a bowl add 1 tsp of corn flour, add water and mix them without lumps and keep aside.

  6. In a cast iron iron pan, add sesame oil and start frying the marinade prawns and keep aside.

  7. Remove the oil from the pan, in the same pan add, orange juice sauce, allow them to boil.

  8. To the sauce add slit green chilli and mix and cook.

  9. Add salt and pepper if need.

  10. Add the corn flour mix to the sauce and mix. This makes the sauce thick.

  11. Now add the fried prawns to the sauce and coat them well.

  12. Serve hot!

NOTE: IF NEED YOU CAN ADD EXTRA ORANGE JUICE

mix them well
add fried prawns
coat them well
serve
